Talking Good times with 2.73's

Sunday I took my car to the track for the last time this year. Temps were in the 30's with about 60% Humidity. My only mods are 160* thermo, manual fanswitch, and cut-out. I ran on my bald RSA's and stock 2.73's. My best time was:

60' 1.954
330' 5.592
1/8 8.527
MPH 84.84
1000' 11.009
1/4 13.124
MPH 106.01

I was extremely happy with these times, and can't wait to get some real mods for next year

Not bad! I wish I could have gone to the track once more this year to run again in cool weather............I would like to see something better than 13.4 before I really start doing some serious mods, but oh well...........I'm not complaining!

Good times!

I was running almost completly bald RSA's, and was running consistant 1.9's to 2.00x's.

I also ran a 14.499@104 spinning to a 2.3 60' in 2nd gear start(did no burnout, and lane was more "slippery" than the usual one i ran in). And having the headlights up slows me down .1 - .2 sec, and about 1 - 1.5 mph.

I don't think so................13.124 @ 106 is quite possible for a "relatively" stock LS1. With a cutout, it would completely free up the exhaust, so that would put a couple ponies to the wheels, and if he was running in good conditions (track, weather, etc.) then there's no reason he couldn't run the time he did with the mods he's got......................check the time in my sig and that was bone stock.

Why are you calling BS on that? That is a definitley believable time especially on a 1.95 60' time. Dont read much on LS1's do you?

It was much better than I expected, my previous best with the same mods was a 13.51@104.07, that was in 40 some degree weather and like 80% humidity. It was a very good day when i went, it was in the 30's with minimal headwind. I have multiple timeslips with 13.1's and 13.2's. My worst run was a 13.4 |@105, and that was my first run when i didn't warm up my tires at all. When i did warm up my tires, I launched at about 1200 and many times dead-hooked ands ran the 1.9's. Maybe cold weather and my top-end gearing go well together.

Nice times. A lid and K&N and you should be in the 12's.
