going to Kinston Drag Strip on thursday. need better times

I have about 1/4 tank of 87 gas and im trying to empty it tomorrow with all the running arround i have to do. will using 92 change the results in a 1/4 mile from when i was using 87? If so about how much of a change you thing it will be.

Kind of a stupid question...i know but i wanted to ask the ones who know best.

thanks

If the 87 octane causes a "knock retard" in the timing, then yes it will help. If it is NOT causing timing to retard then it may actually slow the car.
But I doubt that even under controlled conditions, at a track, you would be able to tell.

i think the 93 helpped cause i dropped my time down to a 14.18 and i my slowest time was a 14.39. and my top speed went up to 96.4. and that was out of 9 runs.

If you want to make a big difference, focus on air into the engine and air out of the engine. I ran 14.1 all day and did the following low budget big improvement mods:
1) Hooker long tubes, 3" y-pipe and flowmaster american thunder cat-back
2) Moroso cold air induction
3) B&M ripper shifter
4) MSD 8.5mm wires and bosch platinum plugs

Before: After:

60' 2.148 60' 2.120
330' 5.973 330' 5.697
1/8 9.106 1/8 8.624
MPH 78.59 MPH 84.59
1000 11.772 1000 11.136
1/4 14.024 1/4 13.255
MPH 101.24 MPH 106.89

Before and after was on street tires. BG Comp T/A 245/50/16

I have since went deeper into the engine and still working on the suspension to get it to stick.

Man, I really got to get my 60' times down. The first and only time I went my time was with a CAI, Flowmaster replacement muffler, TB Bypass, Air Foil, 160 T-stat only my timeslip said:

Reaction: .157

I1: 2.506

I2: 6.494

I3: 9.722

MPH: 76.418

ET: 14.835

MPH: 96.396

M.O.V 1.525

This was an evening in August 08 that was 85* and I had tires that wouldn't stick to anything. The 60' shows that.

My speed was good, just need to nail the launch. I've added sfc's since as well.
