getting car to hook
getting car to hook
I've been able to cut 2.1-2.2 60' times on my stock suspension and 245/50ZR16 sumitomos. After my header install I noticed that there isnt a chance in hell that I'm going to get any traction whatsoever with this current setup. I was getting some serious wheel hop and traction problems with just an SLP CAI and 3.73s at the track. What are some good mods that I can do to get better traction?
I am very close to purchasing some 17x11 TT2s.
I want a set of 315s on the back, but im not sure what to do.
buy some nittos for these, or get some cheap sumitomos and use the old 16x8 stock wheels to mount a set of slicks on. I really don't get to go to the track much, maybe once every other weekend. and my car is my daily driver.
What else could I do? I've heard of Sub Frame Connectors, but don't the just stiffen up the chassis a bit? Also Lower control arms, but I don't understand what they would do to help.
I also don't want to sacrifice a whole lot of cornering ability with all this.
any help is appreciated!

You've already answered your own question.
You like to drive.
Buy the 17s and knock yourself out.
Use the old rims to house your slicks.
You'll have everything you wanted: excellent daily driving & cornering and excellent drag strip time slips.
Arguably the sub frame connectors and lower control arms might help cornering ability and even dragstrip times, but why bother with the expense at your current level (you didn't mention road racing).
I went the sig times with all stock-unmodified, suspension, rear end, and slicks. Sixty foot - 1.55.
