Gah! Track times sucked, driver or car?

Went to the track for the first time this weekend. My friends kinda laughed at me when I told them my times. I only got 3 passes in and 2 of them i screwed up majorly. Oh and it was on street tires.

1st run: (Im an idiot and let out of the gas shortly after the 1/8th mile)
reaction .6639
60 ft 2.43
1/8th 9.21 @80.03
1/4 14.25 @85.20

2nd run: Forgot to shift (was really nervous)
Cant find the slip but I ran a 13.9

3rd run:
Reaction: .8632
60ft 2.31
1/8th 9.03 @ 81.57
1/4th 13.73 @ 105.71

Mods include a small cam, minor port work on heads, comp cam springs, pace setter LTS, ory (no cats), 3in exhaust all the way back, -air, -egr, theres a couple more lil things i know i am forgeting. Car dyno'd 314/341 on a loaded mustang dyno (dunno what that means exactly but was told maybe 340ish on a dynojet?)

All I know is that I was really hoping for better than that. Dunno where I should be but I know that time kinda blows. After reading a little bit I am wondering if the car would run quite a bit faster if it wasnt for its retarded driver. What ya'll think? Cant base the cars best off of my 3rd ever run down the track? I dunno...

I'm sure your car has the potential of being somewhere in the upper 12s. Work on your driving, try to get those sixty foot times better. You may even want to consider some better tires for the track to aid in traction.

driver...im guessing you have an lt1, but the car should run faster, youre running times similar to stock..you gained 24 mph in the last half of the track which means less driver input from you the better the car runs

Needs some driver work id say, once you get un nervous it will help alot. Not to hj the thread but does rt count on your et? like if you took 5 seconds to go at the start would you still run 14.0 or would you run 19.0?

No it does not matter, esp. in a test and tune situation.

Get those 60's down to 2.0 and then you will know what the car has in it. Your 2.4 60's tell me you are having big traction issues, and not launching well.

It spun HARD, but if i launch any lower than i did the car fell flat on its face. I tried to feather it but it didnt work out so well. I am afraid of putting drag tires on the back cause i dont wanna trash my rear end. I dunno. think the stock rear will push her down the track without goin boom?

you should be able to hit 2.0's easy on street tires, you just need some practice...but i'd also be worried, you should be trapping a lot higher than 105, thats minimal bolt on territory

rt dosent effect et.... you should invest in some DR's.... they dont hurt ur rear end as much as slicks but u still stick better. and practice could help a lot

you need sticky tires if you ever want to run a decent et. Getting them doesnt mean your rear is going to break also. If you still slip the clutch or drop it from 2k you'll be okay, what is going to break it is the shock your going to send through it with a 5k sidestep off the clutch.
also you may want to get a pcm tune. The numbers it put down are similar to a well running bolton m6 car. You will also know the where to shift at.
If you can cut a 1.8-2.060ft time youll be running high 12's(12.60-12.90's) all depending on many variables.
