I had this video in the Lounge, but after it got completely buried in a few hours with only a couple views, I decided to just move it here. I'm sure people here can relate to my experience. lol. Losing a heads up race to a truck (a big truck in fact) was not really expected. - So unexpected that I had my buddy riding shotgun, thinking I was going to pull hard on the diesel. You can even hear my friend with the camera say, "you suck" at the end. Oh well, I am much faster now, lesson learned.

wow, thats a fast diesel. Do you think you would have caught him if it was the 1/4?

I really don't know if I would have caught him. It would have been close though.

Yeah you got to be carefull of those diesels! I'm a diesel mechanic and I can tell you up front that the new stuff out there like the Duramax and 6.0L powerstroke can make some serious power with very little modding.

I actually race a truck with a friend of mine on the side. Its a 76 F150 with a Cat 3208 in it. 42psi boost, nitrous and propane injection making roughly 850hp from a 636cid diesel. Runs 11.1x @ 125+ in a 5400 lb truck....

Good run anyway, next time you will be ready when you see that cloud of black smoke from the exhaust

I did nine 1/8 mile passes last week. Each run fell between 8.007 @ 84.57 and 8.054 @ 84.56. Pretty darn consistent. This Saturday I will be adding my new NX MAF kit and NX Maximizer with a 150 shot. This should help speed me up a bit.
