^ ^ it's harder to do with a 6-speed though, AND why waste "good brakes" on a burn-out? For what a line-lock kit costs, it's a good investment . Also, MUCH easier to pull off a good burn-out with a 6-speed + line-lock!

I'm going to get the MSD wires most likely.

I went on summit and found the SLP line lock kit for $155.95.

I have a line lock and run MT DR's. I have to say that the line lock is one of the most handy things on my car. Its very nice to be able to warm em up without killing your drivetrain, and breaks. Call it cheap insurance, but I think its great.

I also run LS1 two piston front breaks, and I think that they help be to stall the car up a little better.

Greats times, and I have to agree. Racing without atleast DR's is kinda waistful. First you tear up up your street tires, second you dont get the traction you could have. My car really is a different car with them on vs. running with my Khumos on.

Yeah, in my case.. Hospital bills, Taxes, Other Bills, More BILLS!, and $0 left for the car. I owe about $5k or so in bills.

FWIW, I made two back-to-back dyno pulls, one with my stock paper filter, and one without. I made seven more horsepower with the filter.

It's important to note that the PCMs in our cars have a limited ability to learn and compensate over time, and that if I drove around without a filter for an extended period of time (I wouldn't recommend that), it's possible (NOT guaranteed) that the car would make more horsepower without a filter.

It's much more likely that the car would make more horsepower with a higher-flow filter like a K&N, but I'd still need to give the PCM time to learn (or I could just get a tune).

The point here is that if you want the best results, don't change the car's setup on the day you get to the track -- you'll just throw off the A/F ratio and the car won't have time to compensate.

LMAO!!! Thats the story of my life!! I hear yeah, diapers for the kiddo, clothes for the wife, Nitrous for me...Its all about the budget.

Some advice set a goal every year for where you wanna be with your car. Have a long term goal (overall goal), and a short term. Be realistic, but most of all be paicient. Set yourself up a little budget and save a little every payday.

One you know your goal, then ask questions. You can make your car fast without having to thow so much money at it. My car probably makes 270 rwhp but can run in the 12's. Its definately not about hom many parts you have, but how those parts work together, and what parts you need to achieve your goal.

My (short term) goal this year was to run 12's. I planned, asked questions, researched, and I hit it my second time out. Now on to the next goal (next years goal). Im shooting to pick up a full second every year until I can run low 11's on motor, and low 10's on Nitrous (Overall). I've layed the ground work for my overall goal so everything I add from here will work with what I already have in place and will work together.

Just some advice. I dont know it all by any means, but I know I dont have a ton of money to throw at my car. I dont wanna have to replace parts that I've upgraded with already (ie. buy a 52mm TB, then get a 58mm later just as an example). Thats what I am doing and I hope it helps you out too. Good things come to those who wait right?

That's actually not a bad idea. I think I'm going to start setting up yearly goals as you said. I'd like to run 12's by the end of this year! Now I just have to figure out a way to save up money and still pay down my bills asap.

yea the way i do it is like that....but i go from the valvetrain first....stuff that will break replace first...and replace them with top of the line stuff...like my next big mod plan will be to have my tranny rebuild to handle 600rwhp even tho i'll barely make 350rwhp....then prolly a year after that install a 12 bolt for my 10 bolt.... then start working on power gains...cam and heads etc

Forget the 12-bolt! A Dana 60 is both stronger and less expensive.
