First time at the track yesterday, numbers inside

well I popped my track cherry yesterday and had the time of my life. My best run:
13.42 at 107.8
how accurate with mods in sig? Can I get any more out of that or is there anything I can do to get a better et? Just wondering because I was happy with my trap speed.

What was your sixty foot time?

great numbers for your first time out.

My hunch is that you will find a lower ET after more practice with your shifter.

60 foot time was 2.4

My very first run was a 13.82 and my best run was 5 runs later.

And maybe you can help me with this. I figured out today that I accidently programed my gears wrong with my hypertech. I put it in a 3.73 when they are the stocker 3.42s. Would this effect anyhting?

Your 60' time is way to high. Your trap is good for high 12's so you have lots of room to improve. It's been said you drop .2 off your ET for every .1 you drop from your 60' time. I usually like to keep conservative so lets say every .2 you drop will equal .3 off your ET. That 2.4 60' can be dropped down to a 2.0 with some practice. That means you would drop .6 off your ET giving you a 12.8 @ 107 on a 2.0 60' which sounds about right to me.

On street tires all I can say is try 35 psi in the back, go around the water, do a fast burnout to clean them off and then stage. Shift at the very least 6000 rpm's. I have an A4 so I can't help you with launching technique.

But if you do a search using "launch" or "m6 launch" you should fine tons and tons of threads on how to launch in a M6. Just make sure you find the ones that talk about launching on street tires with bolt-on cars. Different power/tire setups will often warrent different launching teqniques.

Nice job for your first time out though. Keep practicing and stick with it. Your car has the potential for high 12's right now.

Good luck

That should only have affected the speedo and odometer slightly.

You have basicly what i have done to my car, but i have an LT1, I ran a 13.8 at 104. i think you should be low 13's but not 12's. your 60' is horrible, are you getting any traction at all? you need to launch softer. i had a 2.0 60' when i did 13.8 @ 104

good times for the first time tho.

Good E/T's for first run but your 60' is horrible! Are you just punching it off the line?Launch a tad bit softer or get better tires..I remember my first runs at the track..12.1 flat...I really sucked...I run low-mid 11's now.
