First time at the track w/ the WS6 :)

I finally got around to takin my new WS6 to the strip tonight. Managed a best ET of 12.991 @ 106.75mph. Not bad for an almost completely stock car (lid, cutout). There's actually a TAD more skill in launching a V8 then my old V6, lol. The V6 you just stomp the damn thing, whereas the V8 you gotta worry about traction.

I was kinda suprised with one of my runs though... I've never chirped the tires going into second before (it's an A4 btw, no shift kit, although I have a TransGo waiting to get installed!), but on one of my runs the damn car slid about 45 degrees sideways going into second! Freaked me out, dunno why it did it that one time.

What's some other LS1 stock times, or close to stock?

great times! thats about right for a WS6 or SS. some M6 SS's have been a little faster stock, but not much. just out of curiousity, what were your 60s? are you at sea level?

yea, my 96 Z A4 with a bone stock tranny will chirp second every once in a while when shes feeling froggy the first time it did it though, i was stoked. apparently its not as uncommon as i thought, especially not for a LS1 car. and my Z has 2.73s!!

60' was 1.975.

I can't wait until I get my TransGo installed on the car, that thing's gonna go crazy going into second!

I'm in Houston btw, not sea level, quite, is it? I dunno...

thats a pretty impressive 60 on a street tire. you know what gear your car has? youll love that cam when you get it in add a stall and youll be solid 11s.

Very nice run - congrats!

If you went to HRP, then you are about as close to sea level as you will ever get....10 ft! The air in Houston last night was VERY good, with corrected altitudes hovering between -1600 and -1900 ft.

Great times. Wish I could have been there, since our drag strip has been closed for two year now.

Good Runs Man.

I wish I could get those 60ft times with non dr/slick type tire. My best on street tires are low 13 sec quarter mile times@around 112mph with 2.3-2.5 60ft times.

I got 3.23's. Guess I just got talent in launching Friend of mine who was there also w/ a WS6, (same exact car, except he has a HPP3) was gettin 1.9xx 60 foots and 12.8xx 1/4ths.

We were originally gonna go to the strip next week, but the weather was just so perfect for racing, we couldn't resist

12.9 somethign, at 107 mph 1.95 60 ft with a 6 speed on F1s (lid) with a friend driving.

13.00 at 109 on a 2.00 with me driving.

13.70 at 105 with my grandmother driving - its hers so I guess the car best is 13.70

Thumbs up

Great #'s for a lid/cutout LS1.

I hope your getting a better torque converter with that Trans Go because that shift kit(even with the one washer setting) is annoying as hell on the 1-2 shift while just cruising around town. The car would jerk really hard everytime although it didn't bother me as much as it did the passengers. With an aftermarket converter, you barely even notice its there.

Good luck,

Mike
