Thumbs up Finally...First pass on 383

I finally got the car down the track for the first time. The E.T. was not great but the MPH rocked!! The best pass was a 11.75 @ 119 MPH The best part is that MPH was in 85 deg heat with 70% humidity.

The Hoosier 26 X 9 quick time pro's were not up to the challange. The 28 X 10.5 M/T's, CE shocks and airbags will be here on Wed and in by the weekend. I can't wait to see what the 60' will be after I get the suspension up to par.

Whats the stats on your motor? I'm trying to get an idea of what my car is going to run.

Good times for your first trip with the motor. I hope mine goes that well. =) I just don't want to be one of those guys that has a 383/396 that is stuck in the 12s and they were hoping for mid 11s. (no offense anybody)

I had a friend with a built up 396 and ran 12.12@117 as his best M6 car. Some of that may have been traction but still he had heads almost as good as mine below, but had a solid roller cam. I'm hoping that my tranny and tire set up net me some 1.3-1.4 60's. I think he was running 1.8's.

Sorry about the last post. For some reason the junk I typed in did not show up.

It is a forged 383 short with 11.7 compression, ported stock heads, BBK 58mm, Accel 36# inj and a .560/.576 lift 242/252 duration cam. I am tuning it myself with LT1 edit. At the moment I have only changed the inector offsets, injector size, cylinder size and a few other misc items such as speed limiter and gear/tire size.
I have not been able to adjust any WOT timing or PE tables since I have not been able to log any WOT data. I think I have that tracked down to MSD gremlins.
Once I am able to log some runs I am pretty sure I can squeeze out a few more ponies.

Thats a good time for a car that has not been tunned it shows you are making good power . Did you run it at ESTA ? I was running 12.01's at 120mph last year there on street tires (major traction problems and stiff suspension) I couldn't get my car out of the 12's . ESTA is not a good track but it works . Nice run though !

Red: Looks like we have a real simular set up. Only thing really differnt is my cam has a tiny more lift but the same durations. And I'm running 12.5:1 compression.

What are you shifting your car at aprox? And at what point does your car stop pulling in the higher RPMs. I'm worried that with a big shot of nitrous I am going to run out of gear in the 1/4 mile.

I hope to have mine wrapped up by the 15th of August, I'll take it to the track the following weekend and update everyone as to what it runs. I'll try to make atleast 1 nitrous pass with a 200 shot. I'll get 1000 miles on the car before I go the the full 400 shot. Want to make sure everything is ok so i don't blow the motor sky high.

The run was at ESTA. I have had good days and bad days out there. There have been times ESTA matched my best 60' ever from Englishtown and Atco NJ. Then there have also been days like this weekend

I am shifting @ 6400 and the car is still pulling hard. I may be able to shift higher but I am not going to mess around with that till I can pull some data.
