Open headers will give you just as much as a cutout.And never said it would be faster just said it would be louder and they it deff is with open headers

100% true, my car ran a 15.07 through the cut out and then a 15.3 through the exhaust. But my exhaust is pretty restictive, its like a 2 1/4 inch pipe into a 3 chamber flowmaster. It will take away a little torque, but since my TPI motor has more tq than I canget to the ground it didnt effect me.

 

On my other T/A when I opened my cutout my times would drop 1 tenth and I would gain 1 mph in the 1/8th. In my opinion that was well worth it for the $30 that I had invested in the cutout. Plus at the end of the night I would just cap it back up and drive home.

 

but do you think that "free mods" will add any hp??

On this websight, the guy who did the dyno testing found that the TB Coolant bypass mod gave him 6.3 peak hp and 7.1 peak ftlbs of TQ. There is more good info in that site worth checking out. Most of the free mods are not things that would give you huge gains that you could feel or anything, but all the little things add up. I personally have no testing of how much the free mods help but they can't hurt. The only one I am not 100% sure about is descreening the MAFS unless you have tuning to correct for it.
