do these times sound right?
do these times sound right?
I was wondering if you guys think my times are reasonable for my mods on my TA. Mods are in the sig. Times were run in 80ish deg weather on 17" nittos with full weight.
60ft 2.053 lanched off idle
1/8 8.447
mph 83.13
I still need to play with the tuning some more, but I think I should have a little higher MPH.

Re: do these times sound right?
in my 86 iroc i pulled a 2.0 60 ft from 2000rpm stall and Dayton Daytona HR 245/50 R 16's with 50psi in them..- then the trans shifted into 2nd gear and the rear end went sideways so i had to let out..

I think the times may be a bit off for a heads/cam car. Work on getting those 60' times down and the rest will follow.

cool a P'Cola dude
I'm over in F'hope
I ran mine I've run best of 8.3461 at 77.01 mph 60 foot is 2.0272
My mods are to my 94 z28 auto with tops and 139,000 miles
screens removed, K&N cold air kit, Mac headers, Ypipe upgrade, cat delete, flowmaster , SS rear end with 3:42's 160 thermo, and reprogrammed. I'm running on very low treaded Michie's. 245's on a 16 aftermarket rims, full tank of gas and my heavy butt in it .
I'm very satisfied with mine

Re: do these times sound right?
wyldcdn, what track were those runs made at, Mobile? I go to Emerald over in Holt. I hear from alot of people that Mobile's track is on the short side, thats the reason I ask. 8.3s is pretty damn quick for the mods you have, especially given your 60ft and mph. Curious, how much improvement did you see with the 3.42 rear at the track? Im always on the lookout for one of these to pop up around here...its just a matter of time.
Re: do these times sound right?
I heard that it is a shorter track. I bought the car ..as is. Its still fairly quick and somewhat falls into where the previous owner said it ran. He raced a quite a few times over in Gulf Port also, ran a bunch of 13:2's
Its either untrue about the mods, or untrue about the times. A good buddy bought a very modded 93' Z Running hooker's larger cat. 4" exaust, lower arms and track bar, cold air, aluminum elbow, msd, (piggy back system for the spray) larger Throttle body. I can beat him everytime by about a car. (I contribute alot to the 3:42's) not to mention mine just feels snappier. I'd like to run Holt.

Re: do these times sound right?
forgot to mention; this was word of mouth, Mobile's 1/8 mile is using some program to adjust the times to fit the proper length. Thats hear say, but the car is stronger than a friends with alot more mods. So something isn't adding up. Looking forward to running holt, or maybe run into another track for more info.
Re: do these times sound right?
Holt is ok, lots of cars and crashes though. BTW, the last 2 times I went most LS1s were running 8.8s-9.1s. There was a rear-mount turbo LS1 running 8.0s. I was running 8.7-8.8s so I felt pretty good. Obviously the weather sucked. If you go, you have to get there right when they open other wise you will spend the night in the staging lanes. Im not sure where the next closest track is to you.
I wonder how they would convert the numbers and keep the accuracy. The ET seems linear enough to wag, but the mph is an average at the end, not a set number at a set time.
