I drag raced a wrx awd turbo 2002 with a few mods totaling at 250-255 hp maximum at a 1/6th of a mile. I had completely bald tires on my 94z28 with slp intake, flowmaster muffler, a4. From a dead stop I spun about 35 ft.. and he was about 10 car lengths ahead and I lost finishing 1 car length behind. Wouldn't I hook up better with bald tires? I mean flat out bald...? If not.. when I put my new nexen n3000's will it hook up alot better to where I can beat him 1/6 th of a mile? Thanks..

 

Bald tire does NOT = slick. A bald tire is just a tire with no tread to grip anything with. Think about it a minute, if bald tires gripped better than tires with tread all tires would be made bald.

And quit racing on the street.
