You can build it fast, cheap, and reliable...pick two.

cold air intake, exhust, headers, stall if your Auto, some good tires, and gears.

There are also a ton of free mods you can do. Do a search on Free mods and you will find complete intructions on how to do them.

Might want to read the LT1 Engine forums instead of Drag Racing though.

Nitrous would be the quick and easy way. However, I would cover all the basics first and invest in some bolt-ons starting with the exhaust and induction.

Exactly cause to get the most out of your nitrous your gonna want all the supporting mods already in place.

Maybe that will help you out. Even with ALL of the safety modifications, nitrous is still more hp/$ than any other bolt on.

The only one I don't agree with is the AFPR. The computer will eventually adjust for the change.

Ive heard mixed reviews on that particular chart. Needless to say while Nitrous is hands down the best bang for the buck you gottan lay the foundation first for it.

I've seen a lot of people stick a nitrous kit on a basically stock engine, make a few good but inconsistent runs and end-up destroying their stock engine with the nitrous.

So, something cheap doesn’t come without a cost down the road.

That's very true. But then again, some people put a cam in and spin bearings, too. THEN they build a new motor that's again NA and spin MORE bearings. So there's risk no matter what.

Cheap and power don't go together in the same sentance. Any power adder gives riskes. Cheapest power adder is to remove as much weight as possible. Spray gives the most bang for the buck but may bang more than you want. My best bolt-ons in no particular order were gears, converter (auto), and long tube headers. Then you have to modify the spension to get the car to hook. Never ending loop.
