Can I hit high 12's with my setup?

The only thing I've added this year is a Spohn TA. My car before the TA is consistant 13.30's @ 104+ mph running on DR's, weight reduction in the trunk area, ditching the frt bar and all related pieces. The best et is a 13.23@104.88mph. I would only hook like a 2.0 before (had a couple of 1.98 60's)

Engine mods are in the sig. Car dynos 305hp, 320 torque @ the wheels. Stock cam, stock heads, stk dual cats, stk intake, stk gear (3.42:1), all emissions equipment functional. Is it possible with the TA I can get a high 12 out of my setup?

I think you could get close if you were still running on the DR's but I don't think you can get into the 12's. I bet the stock cats are hurting you why dont you put some high flow cats on? Also do you have an upgraded y-pipe?

Re: Can I hit high 12's with my setup?

My car has the stk dual cats so I don't really have a y-pipe like the single cat guys. Yeah compared to a dual cat high flow setup my stocker's probably costing me a bit but not as much as you think, for a factory piece the stock dual cats on a 96-97 car doesn't flow too bad. Compared to the $$$$ I would have to spend on a high flow cat setup the improvement I would see would be mininal at best.

My car just doesn't hook well whether it's with DR's or street tires before with my stk. suspension and TA (I do have a few urethane pieces like panhard rod bushings, TA bushing etc.). When I got that 13.23 et I hooked the 1.98 60 which to me is still a 2.0 basically. Most guys with DR's can usually hook like a 1.7-1.8 that's why I'm thinking that with the TA I might get it into the 12's and with my setup that would be quite a feat IMO.

Anything is possible, try finessing it off the line, shift quick, and leave about 42psi of air in the front tires. I got 12's, stock head/cam/gears, etc. You can do it man! Good luck!

...but I did have SLP int. headers/ypipe & new clutch, plus afpr, Granatelli custom MAF sensor, SLP CAI, 1LE elbow, hypertech programmer & 160 stat, LCA's/Panhard, Poly rear, Comp Engineering Drag Shocks, Airbag in right rear, BFG Drags & a gutted cat, which probably helped over your dual cat setup. Good luck dude!

i think it has it. catch some cool air and do some weight reduction. the biggest key is going to be traction though. good luck and let us know how it goes.
