Cam suggestions?
Cam suggestions?
I'm currently runnning a 228/236 bullet cam and was looking to upgrade when I have some more port work done on my heads this winter. My engine is a 94 LT1 bored 0.030, forged Ross pistons, Eagle H beam rods, and the stock crank. I was thinking about going with a comp cams 236/242, but wasn't sure if that would put me turning to many rpms for my stock crank. Any suggestions would be great.

I run a 235 242 GTP-6 grind and mine pulls all the way to 7k. I do have Comp R lifters, stud girdle and an AFR rev kit though. I have the same basic bottom end as you and mine is holding up. BTW I shift at 6300 rpms...that rpm seems to do good for best ET.

Thanks for the info Matt. I've noticed your sig before and thought that it was quite impressive. I think I saw you at MIR earlier this month for the f-body shootout, but I didn't get to talk to many people with as hectic as everything was. Thanks again and maybe the next time I see you we can talk. Later.

Two words for you "Custom grind" cam shaft is what you need. At your power level and what you are wanting to do you need something designed to work with your setup Call Joe Overton and he can hook you up with something that will make some more power. I did and I am satisfied. #804-598-9261. JMO Later
