That is fantastic if someone is doing that... Of course I find it really hard to believe but on the internet all things are possible. Also, if you take out enough weight it could certainly be done.

I doubt it, a Cammed/Bolt on only LS1 did that in one of the recent HotRod magazines. Except it weighted in the 2800# area

LS1 yes, LT1 naturally aspirated no. Best I've seen cam only, LT1 wise, is Frank95Z with 11.4's in good air.

Neil my car is light but not ls1 light. Last time I weighed my car it weighed 3327 with me in it. I ran 11.40 116.59 with a 1.48 short time at that weight in 60 degree weather. Thats with stockheads na. When i had it dynoed Geoff at Thunder said it was way lean but it runs well in the heat that way. Next time I get some really cold weather I will richen it up and I believe i can run 11.20's how it sits. Frank95z

Frank, i'm curious about something...
what is your definition of stock heads?
never been removed stock heads, stock eliminator "stock" heads or something else "stock" heads?

In Sept. 2004 High Performance Pontiac i just got It has 97 firehawk that ran 10.29@129 in the Stock Eliminator class.

This with stock heads(valve job only) and a stock lift but higher duration cam, And a stock 48mm TB. It made 449rwhp like this More a race car than a street car but i was impressed

Maybe with a TH350 and a transbrake. I have "heard" (internet talk) of stock lift cam, stock head LT1s going 10s, but have never seen one to verify.

I think you're absolutely correct. But you would have to really completely strip it to get the weight low enough.

My car ran 11.42 with stockheads never removed from car. I have run 11.40 flat with heads that were off car but just with just a stockvalve job,no porting,no decking ,no bull. My car is classed a street car I can jump in it and drive anywhere. It has a stock transmisssion and lockup converter and gets 20mpg on the highway. Also has stock shocks, suspension,k member. I have removed airbags but till this car i never had airbags before Frank (not a stock eliminator car)95z
