Thumbs down BEWARE of NMCA Racing!!!!!

I usually don't take my problems to a public message board but I've reached my limit. On May 18th I won the NMCA EFI Eliminator class and I received my $500 check at that time. Well a week later I get that check returned to me NSF. The next day I get in touch with Dale Van Houten, the President of NMCA, he apologizes profusely and said it was a bank error. He said I could either redeposit the check or he would get me out a money order that day. I chose the money order but after 2 weeks I still did not receive it. I called Dale back and he said that he had mailed it out a few days after we talked but I should have gotten it in 2 weeks. Dale said that he would get me out another money order Next Day Air to following day. Well that's been over a week now and still NO MONEY. I tried for the last 2 days to reach anyone at the NMCA with no luck, just voice mail. I fully understand that mistakes can happen but over a over a month is ridiculous.

I had a good time at the race and was promoting the NMCA EFI racing series pretty heavily but if their checks are bad I would tell everyone to stay away. Hell Thunder Racing for a partial sponsor of the No Problem race here. I bet our sponsorship check didn't bounce.

Oh well I guess I'll be contacting the DAs office now. Sorry to rant on but I wanted to warn potential racers.

I honestly feel bad about what happened to you though. I haven't heard of anyone else with the problem but I'm gonna ask around.

Throw your post up on this web link: www.nmca-racing.com

I would gaurantee it will get some attention. I would bet over 90% of the drivers that run NSCA/NMCA will read your post. I bet Pat Musi's check wasn't rubber for winning Pro Street nor was Joel Greathouse in Super Street! My point is NSCA should make good for all drivers no matter what class they run. I would hate to think bull**** like this happens to smaller classes. You should have received your check by know and theirs know excuss for it! I would do every possble thing that could be done to collecting the money owed to ya. Hell, you paid your entry fee and beat the **** out of your car to put a good showing to the fans. I have ran NMCA AND NSCA Super Street and for the most part have never had a problem but garbage like this does happen. Imagine what if every spectator could cancel there event entry fee for a race they attented. I'd bet NSCA wouldn't take that lightly!

Good Luck

I hope they fix the problem quick and get your cash to ya.

On a lesser note - I was out at NPR that Sunday for the event. Got a late start (stuck in Houma pulling a tranny that morning out of my dads car so I could take it back to Transking the next day). So my dad and I finally rolled up on the track (as spectators) at about 2:30pm. We asked the girl taking tickets, how long would they be running. When she replied "8:30pm or so", we paid our attendence fees and went on in.

You can imagine that we were just a little PO'd when the event ended at 3:45pm. My first time at NPR was dissapointing to say the least. Also, I've never been to a track with slower people working the concesion (sp?) stands. I believe that 20 minutes of the hour and 15 minutes I was there, was spent waiting in line behind only 5 people for freakn drinks.

Like Ken said 3 different posts I made on the NMCA board were all deleted. I finally taked to Gary the webmaster and he is supposed to be handling it this weekend at the Martin race. I told him they had until Tuesday to have me a tracking number for my money order or I was going to the DAs office. We'll see what happens. Looks like I might be making a trip up to thier next race but it won't be with my car.

Another question to ask the NMCA people is where is the contingency monies? I am still waiting for my money from Accel and Torco oil from last year. All I here from NMCA is that it is coming. Yea right and so is Christmas. I have already stopped purchasing any products from these two groups. Anyone else out there not received their money?

I was very interested in participating in the NMCA series at first. After attending an NMCA race at Rockingham a couple of years ago and following/participating in some discussion on a message board following that race, for various reasons I changed my mind and decided to wait and see what direction the organization was headed in and if they could get their "problems" worked out. I sure am glad I waited!

It seems like a lot of you guys and gals who have loyally supported NMCA are now the ones on the short end of the stick, so to speak. If they can't come through for someone like Paul@Thunder, then in my mind they wouldn't hesitate to screw any one of you! Why waste your time and money going to a race that you won't get paid for if you win? Their actions (or lack thereof) is a major slap in the face to all of you who go to their races.

Contingency money? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't NMCA have to send the paper work to either the sponsor/manufacture or to the person who won the contingency so they can send it in? Don't blame the contingency sponsor/manufacture if NMCA didn't do their job - which at this point would be my guess.

They raised the entry fee to $100 for EFI so I just watched the last race. I came in second last year at Grand Bend Ontario in June and didnt get my continency money until December. They fired Missy Fletcher last year for not doing her job getting the winner/runner up information to the proper companies for contingency payouts. Of the several checks NMCA wrote me last year, none of them bounced. They should have taken care of you by now.

Well I happened to go home for lunch and the mail lady came with a certified package from the NMCA with a Cashier's Check in it. Well the NMCA finally stepped up and got me my money.
