question answered. You are in Holly Co, correct? If so, your elevation is 3387 !If use standard correction formula(on http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/co...22d5da4cada37d for weather/elevation, a 14.0 at 99(estimated et based on your 99mph figure provided, your approx trap speed you provided) your rough corrected number for your elevation is 13.37 at 103.63 with a 77*temp and 50 dew point. Your leaving about 5 mph on the table because of your 3387 elevation. I am at a 800 elevation and ran 13.19 with lid, muffler and diablo at 106.

Im sorry, i didnt see in your SIG that you have donned the title GOD. Anyway, yeah, of course driver ability plays a large role, i think it is a VERY large role. But i could be driving a crap pinto and be a super driver and not win, see. look how stupid the consistancy thing sounds in my point of view. one guy says to another after a race: "i beat you, i got to the finish line first", second guy says "yeah, but im more consistant with my driving." My point is who gives a damn if hes more consistant. the other car beat him to the finish line.
Yes hi, I know I'm right.

WTF do you keep up bringing up bracket racing. Just because you're on the track doesn't mean you're going to be bracket racing. I race heads up with people at the track all the time if I want to, has nothing to do with being consistent, just finishing first in the 1/4. Besides YOU'RE the one talking about your performance over a quarter mile. Then YOU come in here saying racing at a track is stupid.... did you buy chance not realize that 99% of the people in this forum are concerned with track performance and not little "street racing" bull****?

come on man... it take skill to win races. in drag racing.. we are not talking about bracket racing, lets say you ran a 13.6 and I ran a 13.4... if you got to the line first you still win the race even though I was faster. I have had it happen a few times. if you cut a good light off the tree, and I have to catch up to you but you make it to the big end first, you win. a race CAN me won on the short time (60'). But if you didnt run him down in the first 660' of the track (1/8 mile), you most likely wont beat him.

It might not seem like Bullsh** if you were like me and lived in the middle of nowhere and there werent any tracks around and you werent some middle aged guy with all kinds of money to spend. Everybody does it around here, so maybe thats where i fit in, track-boy.

So bashing track racing makes u feel better about the fact you don't live near a track. Who cares if you only trap 99 mph in the quarter if you don't care about 1/4 mile racing? Either way, your car is SLOW.

Rule of thumb for street racing: Anything can happen on the street. I've beaten lots of cars in street races that should have destroyed me.

And racing at the track isn't all about being consistent/bracket racing. In fact, when I go to GIR I only race heads up. But its nice to get a time slip and know how well I'm doing and how much I'm improving.

Bracket racing=driver skill
Heads up=faster car
