Can anyone with a copy of the '07 rulebook confirm or deny the STS thing?

A car with ANY aftermarket turbo will not be able to run in a "STOCK"!! class. This is saying that cars with FACTORY turbos must maintain the under hood location.

I haven't seen many hondas with sts kits, and I haven't seen many fbodies with whistles running stock classes.

So do these rules even apply if you're just racing at club-sponsored events, group rental days, and T&T nights? I'm not an NHRA-licensed competitor and probably never will be -- I just want to go drag racing once in a while.

Hello guys

95 Z/28 LT1 made a post in another area about this then told me about this thread!

For anyone that is looking at running a Rear Turbo for 2007 will want to see this!!!!

I was going to run an STS and contacted NHRA...

I asked...
Hello
I’m building a street car to take to the drag strip. I have heard that Rear turbo kits, like the STS turbo system will not be a legal. Is this true???? I don’t want to install a turbo system and not be able to race.

Thanks
Ross

Hi Ross,
Just a rumor. In fact, we saw one of these systems at PRI last week, and it looks fine. As long as the turbo is under the floor, and not in the driver’s compartment, no problem.
Jim Skelly,

NHRA

I ended up going Procharger F1a due to my big inch motor and other reasons!

Hope this helps!

It does say stock class and there are no aftermarket turbos that are not under the hood yet for a stock class.
