anyone run 3.5" wheel with 1" BS on the front?

I got a set of skinnies (on loan for the season) .. they are centerline convo pros .. 3.5" width and 1" BS .. they dont clear the front rotos too well .. should i grind off the rotors ?! or use a spacer !?

what size spacer would i need?

thanx

I have always used a 1/4 " spacer on my 3 1/2" welds (aka skinnies). You have to use a spacer on the LT1 cars to keep it from hitting the brake tabs.

would a 5/16" spacer work ? or would it be too thick for stock wheel studs ?

I'm running 5/16" spacers with the stock studs. No problems here. 15x3.5 Draglites. Technically it won't pass tech though.

Will a spacer at all pass tech? Or is it that 1/4" ones are acceptable?

Its not the "spacer" that is illegal... its the fact that the hex portion of the lug nut no longer engages "one diameter of thread"... or 12mm (~1/2"). If you are using the "long shank mag-style" lug nuts, with washers, on the super thick Weld Pro-Stars of Drag Lites, they will not give you any credit for the thread in the shank, only the part that threads into the hex portion of the lug.

No spacers here. Grind the rotors, cut off the brake clips, and go... Can't hear the clips anyway due to the lound exhaust, and it is legal..
