Another Spool applications question
Ok do you need a Open Carrier Unit and you cant use a posi unit for the GM 10 bolt for the Fbody?
Also would a open carrier work from a Monto Carlo G body 7.5 10 bolt? I can get one.

I'm not quite sure I understand what your looking for here, but I'll take a stab. We need some more info...
I think you are talking about a "mini" spool for a 7.5" 10 bolt. The problem is that in a late model F-body, they have 28 spline axles and they only make a mini spool for 26 spline. It is possible to have new axles made to fit the rear but the money you will spend doing it makes it pointless. But if you were to use 26 spline axles the answer is yes get an open carrier to put the mini spool in.
If you are talking an 8.5" 10 bolt, 12 bolt, or 9" then the "full" spool will be the carrier.

I just lived this nightmare. I e-mailed Richmond about their mini spool. They informed me it was a direct bolt-in...WRONG! As we now know, it's for 26 spline axles, and an open carrier.
When I called Dutchman to order a set of 26 spline axles, he asked me if I was nuts! With the diameter of a 26 spline axle, you'll snap it like a twig. They gave me the exact diameter difference, but I can't remember off the top of my head...I know it was pretty drastic, though.
