Your brother is most likely going to be dead even or even edge you out with the mods he has done. I would start off with headers, a tune, and some sticky tires, that should do the trick.

You win from a roll, lose from a stop. The SC3800 has no top end.

Well with an auto going to 3.73s put in a 2400-2800 good top name brand torque converter with a good set of sticky tires and he'll never see anything but taillights from a dig or from a roll.

Don't go thru the trouble at this point. Do as AL SS590 M6 stated. 3.73s a "GOOD" 2800 stall, and a set of drag radials will make a huge difference with your car. Throw in a tune and a cut-out and you will not only kick his ***, you'll have a big grin on your face for quite a while.
Don't forget a trans cooler and maybe a shift kit to help firm up the shifts if you go with a decent converter. And remember, no restalled stock converters are exceptable, ever!

It will give you about a 10 hp gain, plenty of other mods to do first. You may also want to consider doing some weight reduction, its free!
