93 trans am/what do you think??

finally got my car to the track tonight, my previous best was a 14.76@93 w/ drag radials. after replacing my plugs/wires and using my street tires i went 14.4-14.5@96mph. i ran 4 times all within 10 min. of each other and the weather was ugly 80*/85%. only problem was getting my car to hook w/ my crappy kumho 711's(brand new). all four runs ended up with my spinning through 2nd gear. i raced stock LS1 trans am and i creamed him all the way to 80 then i saw him creeping up slowly, we went bumper to bumper till the 1/4 with me taking the win. best race all night BTW. just want to know waht you guys think about my times?

Sup man,

What was your sixtys like? Also that 4 runs back to back is why your traps are low, my 93 in air like that, if it gets hot, it wont trap for any thing. All Lt1s are like that, you have to keep them cool or they wont run for crap. If your spining through second, I imagine your cutting a 2.2-2.3 sixty. Keep it cold and in good air, if your hooking you'll see those traps go up. my 93 I took it out once and it was cutting 1.9s on a set of old DRs, but was getting real hot and only trapping 96-97. Needless to say I was disapointed, well winter came and I decided to go out to see my friends car run. Well I deicdeed might as well run mine on street tires, how bad could it be right? Well I kept it cold and the trap speeds went up 3MPH, doesnt sound like much but my sixty foot was slower by about 4 tenths. So if I was to hook it better, I'm sure it would have hit 101 or so easy. With an LT1 get the tires hot and keep that motor as cold as possible. Your race with a LS1 is typical, you can fend them off trough most of the 1/8 but past that you need some help.

One reason your mph went up was because usually, and I say usually your mph goes up when your 60 foot goes down. If you are spinning your car gets into its powerband alot quicker giving you a better mph at the end, but your 60 foot suffers greatly. If you go to dr's I would say you would lose a mph not gain 1mph. I totally agree with the fact that you need to keep your car very cool.....hot laps can hurt times pretty good.

Street demon.......with some better weather and some drag radials back on I think you would be high 13 for sure.

since it was street night there werent any clocks other than the 1/4 mile. but im pretty sure that my 60ft were around 2.3-4 since i was just spinning off the line. i cooled my car off for 20 min on the first run but that just ended up in a 15@97. the plugs/wires helped me out a bit but i still need to replace the egr and opti cuz i still have a miss on the top end.
