'93 Camaro Z28 Vs. '91 SS 454
I own a 93 Chevy Camaro Z28. The only modification done to it is a Moroso Cold-Air Intake. There is a guy at my school who wants to roll with me. He, obviously, has a 91 SS 454 pickup. The truck, appears to be, and based on his word is, stock, or at least mostly stock. He seems awful cocky for someone with a truck. I know the motor is much bigger than mine, but it still is a TRUCK. So, what's your opinion? Who would win?

The truck, if still stock, will run 15.4 - 15.7.
The Camaro should be in the 3300 - 3600 pound range while the truck is closer to 4500 pounds. Thats a lot of weight to push down the track even with a big engine.
The Camaro would easily win unless it's got a V6. It all depends on just what's been done to the truck. It doesn't take much to add HP to it. A simple NOS kit can push it into the mid 13's.

I owned a 90 454 SS truck a long while back. In stock trim they were pigs for the most part. You should be able to take him with ease if he is indeed stock. My truck was nowhere near stock and ran a best of 12.4 in the 1/4. You should be able to quiet him down after a run or two.

Dead stop only. If you can't get traction from a deap stop race then lots of HP is useless.
There's a big difference from a 90 and a 91 454SS
The 1990 has a Mark IV engine, TH400 and 3.73 gears. The 1991 - 1993 has a Gen V engine, 4L80E tranny and 4.10 gears. They were all rated at around 250hp but with some head work and a cam swap it doesn't take much to make a lot more hp.
My 91 454SS is a daily driver and I only average around 10,000 km per year. It's also my tow vehicle to get the car to and from the track. I raced it for 2 years before finally getting the car.
