4.10 Guys Inside
4.10 Guys Inside
I just got the 4.10s in my car. My question is that when I go to the track do you think I should dump the clutch in 1st and then shift into 2nd to heat the tires up. Or do you think that I will be allright dumping the clutch in 2nd with the added torque of the new gears. What do you guys do?
Re: 4.10 Guys Inside
being that many m6's with 4.10s bark the 1-2 shift pretty good (mine included) youd think you would be ok dumping it in 2nd. But thats something ill never try because breaking the tires loose at a roll is much less of a jump compared to doing the same thing at stop. But if you got crappy tires and waterbox, you should be cool, but I dont think you can say it wont be hard on anything. Whatever you do, make sure you pre-load the drivetrain, cause its shock that usually hurts things.
Re: 4.10 Guys Inside
its gonna break at some point
bet on that!
i dont get the whole 2nd gear burnout thing, 1st works fine for me!
preloading the the drivetrain without a linelock is a near impossible task with a stick
rev it up with the ball of your foot/shoe holding the clutch pedal down while your heel is on the floor board, then pivot off your heel to the left to release the clutch while mashing the gas
do the oppostie side of the clutch pedal (outside of your foot) to stab at the break for a burnout
