383 hot cam times

Only ran 3 times till i broke the rearend and im pissed! only managed a 13.6 @ 105.5 mph-wtf?!! Shouldnt i expect a better ET with that mph? My 60ft times were crap at 2.15 and I spun like hell into and partially through 2nd. Is this an average mph for that time? Perhaps i need to concentrate on getting the power to the ground.... whats your guy's input??

With a basically stock vehicle and headers, cat back, drag radials, and cold air, I was hitting 13.6's at 100-101.

At 105 you should be in the 12's with a decent launch.

I am unaware of the actual hot cam specs or how they relate to a stroker but I would definitely focus on traction. My guess is you should be in the 1.7's with a 383 and 2600 stall with some reasonable traction.

Are you sure it was the tires that were slipping and not the transmission?

well the tires were definitely going up in smoke! there was rubber all over the inner fender well and both behindand infront of the tires on the fenderwell. I was kinda figuring it should be mid-high 12's with good traction as well-so I was quite dissapointed. One other run I had was a 14.01 at 103 mph-it spun into 3rd that time then downshifted back to 2nd and starting spinning again-uhhhhg! that torque convertor is a joke-i doesnt come close to stalling at that speed!

brake stall and flash stall are two different things. We're you bringing up the revs at the line...? How high...?

My hot cam-otherwise stock long block goes 1.7s on nitto 245 drs with 3.73s and a 3200 yank. Tuning-wise mine might not be doing as good, but I go through the 1/8th in the low 8s at 83-84 mph.

Try working on your launch. I ended up going about 1/2 throttle at the last yellow and mashing it to the floor around ten feet out.

On slicks that kind of tactic isn't necessary.

I just feather it off the line and still blow up the 315's quite badly. Will try some slicks or drag radials of some type. also gonna get another stall convertor as well-shouldnt that help my overall mph as well?
