29 10.5w tires...gulp gonna try

Well i have been looking at doing some minor surgery to my car and try to work in some 29 10.5w tires. Does anyone have pics of their car with these tires on?

I figure that I will have to look at moving the frame rail a lil bit but not sure about the control arms.
The rearend is being narrowed 2 inches on either side so if i need to narrow a bit more i can but just looking at all my options.

I have a 28x10.5-15W ET Drag, and the section width is 13.1". M/T doesn't show a 29" W (theirs is a 29.5"), so I looked at the Hoosiers.... their 29x10.5-15W is 13.2" section width. Can't see a whole lot of difference "width-wise", and all I did was hammer the inner fenders and cut off the corners of the jounce bumper brackets. Standard 4th Gen width 12-bolt, the Spohn adjustable LCA's with the huge nut on them.... no interfenece problems.

Where you will have a big problem is the diameter. With the 28's I had to move the axle back about 1/4" to get some clearance to the sheetmetal at the front of the wheel opening, and then cut about 1.5" off the rubber bumper cover. With the 29's (1.2" larger diameter), you will probably need some body work done.

29.5 "W" on a 30th SS

Click on the "Trailer Queen...." link below for the 28 W's.

Know any Stock or Super/Stock racers? They typically stick 30's under their cars.

Thanks both for the info. Didn't think of the stocker/ super stockers I have a buddy who has a few cars will go talk to him some and pick his mind some. Now 30x10.5w's that might get into something excessive lol.

Thanks both for the info. I have suspension components pretty much all lined out (Jay Billingsley's products really have been helpful with setting up my car.)

Thanks all

Maybe... but it would sure look SWEET! I think Redtirds 28 inchers look good until I get into the staging lanes and see all the OVER 30" tired cars!! I can hear them say (under their breath), WHO let that punk tired car in here?? GOOD LUCK!
