Question 26x11.5x16 E.T. vs. 26x10.5x16's

I was originally looking for a set of used 26x11.5x16 E.T. streets until today a guy on a local board offered to sell me his
26x10.5x16's for $200 already mounted.
First how much if any difference will there be in traction on a stall/geared bolt-on car?
Second are these tires worth $200 with the wheels?

Seller claims they had about 15 runs before he got them and he put 6 on them. I've only had exprience with Nittos so forgive me for the dumb questions and I thank you for viewing this thread.

How do you figure that a narrower tire is better than a woder one?

uh.....taller != better

taller will cut down your gear ratio

The 26x10.5x16 is the correct fit for an 8" wide wheel. The 26x11.5x16 is designed for a wider wheel. It will fit on an 8" wheel but the tread doesn't lay completely flat.

In my experience wider is always better. But alot of it will have to depend on the set up in your car. If you are set up for drag racing and wont have suspension issues, then the 10.5 wors quite well on a 8" rim. My best times and 60' times were on 26x10.5's. Now I have a 26x11.5 and the times have gone down hill, but thats partley to blame on the new gear selection.

In your case... Id stick to the wider is better theory and get the 11.5's. More rubber on the ground is always better IMO.

BTW, a 28" tire is not the "best". its only best if your set up to use it.
