But you can get a better idea of how the car performed by looking at the MPH rather than the ET. MPH is a better indicator of HP. ET is by comparison, a measure of how well you were able to put the HP down on the track.
You also need to tell us the altitude of the track, and the weather conditions. Both of those have a major affect on performance.
Re: 1993 t/a 1/8 mile...
hmmm... not sure what the altitude was... weather was fair. maybe it woulda ran better if the engine temp. was down but its weird because my friend has an lt-4 conversion with other stuff done also and he ran 8.8
my mph was 77.45
my mph was 77.45
Re: 1993 t/a 1/8 mile...
Agreed.... reaction time is not important, affects nothing, other than whether you win or lose the race... not ET or MPH. 0-60 time is for road test magazines.... perhaps you meant "60-foot time".
Your MPH is roughly a 97MPH 1/4-mile equivalent... indicates you had most of the HP you would expect from an 11-year old LT1, but you didn't put the power to the ground very well.... perhaps you bogged or spun on launch, slow shifts?
As far as weather, you need more detail than "fair" .... what was the temperature? ....humidity? ..... barometric pressure? Don't need the EXACT altitude..... are you at sea level or up in the mountains?

Re: 1993 t/a 1/8 mile...
My car was running very consistent 9.30's with a CAI and cat-back. Your times sound dead-on to me, especially if your elevation is high and the weather was less than ideal. At the track I used to frequent there were very few F-bodies in the 8's. Most were running 9.0-9.4, even with bolt-on's. My car runs 8.8's at that track with all the mods in my sig. My buddies bolt-on 6 speed 2001 SS on ET Streets was running 8.80's all day long. Some tracks just suck. I can drive down to I-57 dragway and run 2 tenths faster and pick up 2 MPH in the same conditions. Just wait for a nice Fall night with cool air and a prepped track.
Re: 1993 t/a 1/8 mile...
Depends on elavation, people are quick to call a car slow but it may be from like Colorado or some thing. If its at sea level some thing is wrong, my 93 stock ran 9.1@78, 2.25 sixties out at Lone Star in Seally, Texas. I havent gotten one decent pass with the stall yet, 8.7 best so far with the car getting really hot. With cold air, cat back, Vigi, weight recustion, tires and skinnies I want to hit a 13.20 with the car.
