1/4 ET's going from 2.73 to 3.73

Hey guys, I am currently running 13.9's with my mods (sig) and 2.73's. I'm planning on putting in 3.73's before the season starts in 2 weeks. Assuming traction, and a flawless run, what kind of gain can I look for? Thanks.

If you can pull a good 1.9 or lower you'll gain at least 2 or 3 tenths and a few mph.

I went from 13.98 to 13.62 switching from 2.73's to 3.73's. My mph picked up 1 or 2 mph, but it was mostly ET that I gained. My 60' dropped to high 1.9's from mid to high 2.0's. I just ran Nitto drag radials and never spun. Definately worth the swap. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies, on a side note, if any of you guys are running 3.73's in an A4, what do you tach when cruising on the highway (70-80MPH)?

More like 2700 rpm at 80.

Why don't you try and listen to someone who has 3.73s in an A4 and knows what they're talking about? I don't care what that link says....I know what RPMS I'm turning at 80 mph. You don't Mr. Knowitall.

The link is right, you are wrong. Deal with it. Maybe your tach or speedo is off. Maybe you don't have a .70 o.d. gear or 3.73 rear end gearing.

Dude, I have a stock A4 transmission AND 3.73 gears and I've had my speedo recalibrated. Funny how someone else with an auto and 3.73s has said the same thing I have....yet no one has agreed with you. Perhaps if you actually HAD the setup that was being talked about...your argument might hold some water. But you're pointing to a calculator on the internet saying that you are right. This is the same calculator that says I should be doing 117 in 3rd gear at 5700 rpms. WRONG! Now go sit in the corner, dumbass.

Quote from the calculator's site:

Welcome to my Gear/MPH Calculator. This program will be improved over time, but for now it's not really much past Gamma. It's all JavaScript, and based on an Excel spreadsheet somebody sent me a while back.

Maybe you should include tire diameter in your comparisons?

I hear ya JustaLT1. This guy has an answer for everything. He doesn't even drive an f-body. Hey Steve Y, I think you need to spend more of your time over at the Corral.
