Post 1/2 inch play in Dshaft after moser 12 bolt install, to little?

I just put my new rear end in, and the stock driveshaft only has about 1/2 in play in it now, is that to little, or will i be ok?

That should be fine. Moser may have just set yours up a little closer that's it.

3/4 to 1 inch is the standard.
I don't know if I'd like only having a 1/2".

I snipped off 1/2 inch off the driveshaft when I installed the Moser. When fully loaded 1/2 inch doesn't seem like enough.

When I went through the trauma of a broken ACPT CF DS (they accused me of bottoming it out - it didn't) I spent some time researching. Consensus seemed to be that 1/2" clear is fine for a stock setup, 1" clear was required for a healthy power adder.

My Mark Williams is set up that way (as was my ACPT, but that's a long story).

If you have over 350 horsepower I would definately correct it and get atleast 3/4" play so that you don't ruin your driveshaft. Do you have adjustable LCA's and panhard? I don't exactly know how the Moser is set up but I am sure you can get an extra 1/4" to have a safe amount of play.

My Moser left me with 1/4 play. Un accepable. I bottomed it out the first time I stalled it hard. I will be ordering a New Denny's Nitrious shaft a 1/2 inch shorter

THAT is my exceptable limit after year of racing
