got a few questions about the wiring for all the gauges. i ust got XFI and im sure that il have to leave the PCM in for the gauges and what not but what if i went with all after market gauges? could i take out alot more wires for that? how does the speedo work? would it still need the PCM for it? i know the others will be easy. just woundering what others have done. thanks

what wires from the PCM go towards the frount of the car besides the engine stuff? i have the FAST wire harness for the swap including the injector harness. i would like to take as much as i can out to make it a little more simple.

The only gauges that depend on the PCM are the tach and the speedo. All the others are wired directly from the sensors to the dash..... no connection to the PCM. I run a MoTeC ECU. For the speedo, I kept my stock PCM in place, and allowed it to run the speedo/odometer. I use an aftermarket tach, so that comes directly off the tach output signal of the ECU.

It might be possible to interface the stock VSS directly to the speedo by running the signal through a Dakota Digital speedo interface..... worth looking into if you don't want to keep the stock PCM in the car.
