Will I need a special cable to use this?

Wanting to purchase an autoxray scan tool. The one I am looking at is the Autoxray EZ-Read 2000. Since I have a 1995 Z28 and it has the OBDI computer but the OBDII connecting terminal will this unit work. Please, anyone with experience with this answer this post so I can order one or keep looking. Here is a link to the one I am interested in.

YEA that kit will work. I have the same one. The cable that you will be using is the BLUE one which is listed as the "OBD-II MFG Specific Cable"

ok, got the scan tool today, plugged it in and got a code............................have no friggin idea where to look up the meaning of the code and searching the net showed most codes as 4 digit. I think mine was a 2 digit code but I could be wrong. I will have to do it again tomorrow to be sure but it said electrical. Is there an easy and convenient way to look up trouble codes. Not just for F-bodies but for other vehicles as well?

I will try to get the exact trouble code tomorrow but I am almost positive it wasn't 4 digits.

The 4 digit codes are OBDII codes. OBDI codes are 2 digit.
If you do a search, I'm pretty sure you'll find its meaning, or you could always post here or PM me and I'll let you know what is it.

Thanks for the reply. I will rescan it today if/when I get time and see exactly what the code was. I think the code has something to do with the fans. It only comes on when the fans are operating. If the fan goes off so does the SES light. I will get the exact number of the code again and do a search or post in here for answer.
