Where to jump 12V switched wire for wideband

I bought an autometer wideband. I ran the wires for the o2 already. I've read the radio "red" wire is one I can jump. In the instructions, it says the wire needs to output 13.5V in order for the heating element in the o2 to come on. Am I safe jumping off the radio wire, or is there a better spot?

Thanks,
James

My 97 has a empty space where you can tap into the ignition in the fuse box.
I'm pretty sure that will have 13.5V.
You sould have an empty space too.

The '94 has an ign tap in the inside fuse box right next to the 5 amp IP Dimmer fuse, you need a male spade type terminal to connect to it. I'm not sure where, if at all ,that tap is fused, so you should add a fuse to the line if you go that way. I have also used the rear window defogger switch as a handy spot, think it's the heavy brown wire but not sure. Radio fuse may not be big enough to supply both radio and O2 heater, that's a guess w/o knowing current needed for heater.

I ended up tapping off of the yellow wire, back of the stereo- 13.8V and put an inline fuse of 3 amps. Works perfect.

Fuse box. No "tapping" necessary. Just get a 1/4" female spade connector and slip it over the spade lug marked "IGN".

The Firebird fuse box is "upside down" compared to the Camaro fuse box.

Ah, Injuneer that is what I wanted to know earlier. Oh well, I'll keep that in mind for the next accessory
