VSS Needed?.

Hi all,I have a couple of questions regarding a speedo swap.I'm putting in a covan's dash panel with autometer gauges including a electronic speedo in place of the original instrument cluster. The original speedo is a cable driven one and i need to know whether i have to use the original vss buffer from the back of the original instrument cluster. The car is a 85 Z28 [VIN H].I have also bought autometer's speedo sender [P/N 5291], to go on the tranny which i thought would be right,as it puts out a square wave signal to the speedo, but i'm not sure whether i can go from the out terminal on the speedo to the two brown wires in the cluster wiring which take the original vss output to the ecm/cruise control or whether i need to wire it some other way.I just can't seem to find the right answer, and i want to get it sorted before i put everything back together.I hope this all makes sense, and hopefully someone can help with this.
Thanks,
Regards,Alicat.
