Re: USB-Serial Converter w/ datamaster

I used the Belkin piece that is a larger box. That's the only one that worked for me.

You say you can't tune with XP?? I'm confused; I have been tuning with XP OS for a few years now....

Ive also been able to tune fine with windows xp. But I ran into the same problem with the USB adapter, but now I have the belcan unit and it works fine.

I run Win98 on my laptop and use a port adapter from "Port Authority" that's working nicely.

I have a belkin 103 for sale in the forsale section if you are looking at buying. This is the one most people use to tune/edit.

I never had a problem tuning with xp.

If you're looking to buy a new laptop and want a serial port. HP still puts them on some of their machines. Another option would be to contact alienware (if you got $5000) to blow on a laptop

Re: USB-Serial Converter w/ datamaster

PCMCIA serial adaptors have their own bus.
It should work just like a serial port controller independent of software.
Meaning.... It SHOULD work in DOS
