usb -serial adapter cable driver problem

i formatted my computer recently and had to reinstall my tuning software but lost my driver for the usb to serial cable adapter. every one i find online either dont work or im missings something. Can anybody help me on this situation? i gotta do some tuning and pull some codes to diagnose a rebuilt trans problem?!?

It might help if you told what brand adapter you have.

um its just one of those cheap xcs cables you get off ebay . Well they ar cheap,like 3 bucks and come with a driver disc so i just went ahead and bought another lol

Andrew's site used to list a few adapters that he had success with. I think they were Belkin adapters.

Yeah, the only one I really had success with was the Belkin F5U 103, but those aren't supported at all under Vista or Win7. They're discontinued and I'd consider them 'legacy' at this point. Can't recommend them.

I bought a bunch of different adapters from ebay, but never had good luck with any of them, so that's why I never bought a bunch and resold them. Would have been nice to have a $5 solution.

really ..i never had a problem with mine except when i lose the damn driver cd lol an yways just got mine in and works greeat
