OK. so i bought a cable today to read my PCM. Well, i can't get it to work. i have all the settings on my computer correct. Datamaster says that the ALDL is working correctly but is getting unknown data???????

i am using a usb converter....

i have a 95 z28.

so uh...any ideas? i would REALLY like to scan my computer and find out what is going on with the way my car is running. and find out what codes it has been throwing.

 

ideas? suggestions? get a new PCM?

 

Some people on the LT1 edit forum also have trouble with the usb converter. I'd contact Datamaster and ask them for some help. some people get theirs to work with the usb port and some don't Sorry I can't help, just didn't want to leave ya hangin

 

actually, i am not really having problems with the USB adapter...i know it works...and i am pretty sure that it is not the software either...NO programs that i have downloaded have worked....they have all recognized that the PCM is there, but have not recognized the data that is being sent. so i am thinking that the guy who had this camaro before me did some reprogramming or chipping or something to it...i am just afraid to take it out, because i don't want to fry it. that would be ....uh....how to say.....BAD!!! lol

 

most all usc adapters will see the pcm but only a few will transfer data. so it is probably the usb adapter. what kind is it. most people belkin fsu103 or 105 and have no problems. i know i dont. i even had andrew from akm cables to work on it. and he couldnt get it to work but when i bought the belkin it worked fined.
