tunning after cam

just wanting to see if you think getting my computer retuned after the cam and rocker swap will lower my et.s
the car has been tuned for bolt ons i put the cam, and rockers in took it to the track and it went a best of 7.77 in the 1/8 with like a 1.70 60ft

Re: tunning after cam

I guess it would depend on the cam...

Re: tunning after cam

As Dan said, it would depend on the cam. The larger the cam, the more likely a tune will help. I've seen hot cams with ported heads keep a very nice AFR curve on the dyno...the only real tuning they needed was some added spark and a raised rev limiter.

Re: tunning after cam

That cam would definitely need some work done in the computer.

Re: tunning after cam

so you think i should see some pertty good improvement after the tune gets here?
i have not done nothing deferint to the car since the last run other than sending the tune out so i can see exactly what the tune does for me.
i know the car did not want to idle at all

Re: tunning after cam

I would say it WILL help. Have your heads had a port or valve job?

Re: tunning after cam

194bird,

I have sent you pm's and an email asking for information on this rolling chassis that you said you had for sale? I am very interested and am waiting to hear from you. Either PM me on here or email me at firehawk0944@yahoo.com and if your asking about tuning for the rolling chassis all you have to do is tell that your keeping the car instead of making somebody that is waiting on a rolling chassis that your keeping the car. Its better than making somebody wonder whats up. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
