Tuning Software that Tracks

I tuned a friend of mines car which was a Subaru STi and the tuning software was actually pretty cool. One thing I did like was that while tuning the car with the car hooked up to the computer, let's say I was tuning the fuel map, well the tuning software would actually show you which cell the ECM was using for calculations at that very second. Then you could rev the engine and the cursor would track around the fuel map to whichever cell that the ECM was accessing. I am wondering is there any company out there making OBD1 datalogging software that does this? I have only used Datamaster which I know doesn't do it so is there anything else?

There is no product available for LT1 like this that operates with the stock PCM.

However, Craig Moates (www.moates.net) modifies a 99+ LS1 PCM that has real time tuning capabilities built into it (called the RoadRunner). Also, both EFILIVE and HPTuners offer real time tuning capabilities on the LS1 PCM.

This just further underscores that somebody needs to get an easy way to adapt the 99+ LS1 PCM to the LT1 so LT1 owners can take advantage of all the features and tuning software available for the LS1.

Datamaster, and I'd assume every other scanning software for the LT1 does show you what cell you are in. Doesn't show you a graphic of all the cells, but so what? There's no added functionality in that.

I must be missing something, because I don't see anything in his question about real-time tuning.

Where @ in DM do you see where it does that?

The latest version of Tunerpro RT has a data tracing function. I use it with Moates autoprom for my 93, and love it. You know exactly where your at in your fuel and spark tables without having to go back and look at data, tune on the fly.

Ah. I see what I was missing. I was thinking about BLM cells.

As the above post indicates, you can do real-time tuning with the pre-94 LT1.

You would think that once they figure out how to do it for the LS1 the LT1 wouldn't be that hard to do as well. Of course the LS1 aftermarket is much bigger than the LT1. I for one would LOVE this capability.
