Re: Tuning to eleminate predetination

Awesome. Sorry to hear you're so busy. I need to buy you a beer sometime You've been an INCREADIBLE help.

One additional thing w/ the tuning. I went for a long drive yesterday. When I was in town the engine heated up to about 155 or so according to the guage (i wasn't logging data at the time). That is the hottest it's gotten with my new CSI electric pump. Anyways, I was having troubles with it stalling out it nearly died while waiting at a light. I had to place it into neutral and rev it up to about 2k rpm to keep it going. It was also very sputtry / lugging hard under 2500 rpm or so until I got moving and the engine cooled back down to 130 degrees or so.

Again thank you so much for the help!!!

Re: Tuning to eleminate predetination

lower the closed tps timing to about 26 dgrees, and go into the main timing table and where ever the car idles at (map an drpm) set it to about 26 also. just int he area of idle.

i see in you closed tps table that you sent me your idleing a 34 degrees, thats a little much.

do you have a 160 degree stat in your car, if you dont you need one.

Re: Tuning to eleminate predetination

I'll try those out! Thanks. Actually somebody had me increase the closed tps timing like that cause I had sooooo little vacume at idle that my brakes hardly worked. I'll play with it a little here and see if I can reach a happy medium. Then I'll get back with you to let you know how it works.

Re: Tuning to eleminate predetination

Do you do any instant messenging or anything like that? I dinked around with it for quite a while and made most of the changes you spoke up. However, when I make an adaptation to something like the main spark table... how do I blend that into the graph?

Re: Tuning to eleminate predetination

ok I'm gonna load it... drive around on it a while and fetch some more data w/ datamaster. Does it work best when they are in separate files like that?

Re: Tuning to eleminate predetination

How did you know my Air Fuel ratio? Were you referring to a setting or something you spotted in my datamaster file?

I'm tinkering around with this quite a bit. In order to even the graph out I'm making all of my adjustments with a cursor and the graph... instead of manually scaling chart values. Is that how you did it?

Thanks!!!
