? on tunercats
? on tunercats
Never done any tuning. just bought and downloaded TC. Do i need a stock tune if i had my pcm rework by pcmforless in the past 4 a hotcam setup? want to remove vats and change gearing. Don't know how to get started. How do i look at the tune in my pcm now or how to save it for future refrence? Sorry for the dumb ?'s.
How about tools read pcm for reading it assuming you have the right calibration file type.
You don't need a stock file just use the one you have if it was set for the engine the pcm is running. Save yourself a backup even in a couple of places so you always have the baseline file if you screw something up so you can start over.
I suggest you read the tuner cat help files since they are pretty good and do in fact answer alot of your questions. Also do a search here everything has been covered hundreds of times in detail. I suspect that the reason you have not gotten a lot of response is because from your op it doesn't seem like you have put in any effort at all, not saying thats the case but thats how it comes off.
Once you get the file off your pcm, I suggest you open it up in tuner cat and explore all the dozens of tables and menus and tools. Then come back if you have answers.

Edit, I did download the trial version of tunercats(obd1). It has some decent help files in it. Looks like I need the OBDII calibration help file. Not sure how available this is since they sold it and it became DST.

To the OP, a lot of help is at this link(as well as here).....

There are even calibration files on this forum in the files section. Just be careful what you download. Not all the files are good calibrations.
