Question TunerCat Definition file

I was wondering if anybody had taken a look at one of these before? What do they look like?

Thanks!

Its a bunch of hex data, information in the PCM is stored in hex. There is a field of something like 255 bytes for notes (OBD I), that may be stored in plain text I dont know.

To make your own TDF you'd need to know what hex address' in the PCM mean what, where they begin and when they end for each field (otherwise you'd end up editing more than one table and likely with bad values).

Get a HEX editor like Hex Workshop etc and you can view it/play with it. I thought about getting the TDF editor just to get rid of some fields that I dont need to look at (A4 tables) and re-arrange things in the order I prefer, but as for creating your own from scratch, that would be quite a project without continuously f'ing up the 'computer.'

Progressiveness of a timing table might be 'easy' to detect, due to the stepping in values. For other things like switches (VATS or no VATS), I dont imagine that would be very easy to deal with unless there were notes in the PCM (doubtfull?). As I understand it some of the earlier computers have some commenting in them, but they are probably rather cursory, who knows though.

What do you have in mind?

I'm writting software at the moment for a scanner (ie just working with the DTC codes) However, on the side I've started to disassemble the memory tables, etc from the P66 PCM found on obd1 LT1 engines.

Just thought if I purchased a tunercat definition file and took a look at it most of the work would have been done fore me.

I have the dissasembly of the PCM contents for the OBD I computer. It looks like at least one of the files was written by one of the creators of LT1 Edit, I dont recognize who the other person might be.

Shoot me an email, it looks like it lists some memory address' and thier functions as well as the raw dump.

I have the break down of the data stream for a 95 GM data stream.
I was looking into building an app for the Palm OS but don't currently have the skill for it.
