TunerCat - 350 to 383 - Questions
I have a '95 Z28 that is now a 383. There are a few questions that have surfaced while tuning. I have used a smoke machine to find leaks in the intake (none found). FYI - The location for the smoke machine insertions were at the dipstick, on the vacuum port for the HVAC controls, and on the cold air intake system in the vacuum port for the Opti... no leaks.
Also, I have checked for exhaust leaks using a Seafoam Treatment, no leaks to the tailpipe.
1) I am getting lean intake pops (backfires) when the throttle tips-in. Typically, software has an accelerator tip-in table so that there is a brief enrichment of fuel during acceleration. I can’t seem to find this table in TunerCat.
2) Also, I’m getting exhaust pops on deceleration. What can be done? Which table? Deceleration is keeping the car in gear (Manual M6) while decelerating.
3) My VE Tables are maxed at 99.6. I have checked for exhaust leaks using smoke and there are no leaks. Also, the intake was sprayed with Brake Cleaner while watching the Fuel Trims in DataMaster, no intake leaks were found. The engine was a 350 and has been bored/stroked to a 383. I have scaled down the MAF values, displacement, and Fuel Injector calculations by 10%. The VE still say 99.6. Any ideas?
4) My Closed TPS vs. Spark Table is set to 28* Advance, however my DataMaster is saying 23* Advance with no spark retard. Why?
