Tune Help: BLMS 160, Bad mpg, Smells Rich
Re: Tune Help: BLMS 160, Bad mpg, Smells Rich
Number 1... get the cracked (pre O2 exhaust leak) header fixed. I know my Pacesetter can be pulled from the top on the left side. If it fixes the problem that's great. However it contradicts everything I was seeing, but I'm humble enough to accept defeat by these F-Body's. Usually a pre O2 exhaust leak will read lean on that side, which is the left bank. The PCM will add fuel to the left bank and the result will often show as rich readings on the other bank as the extra fuel mixes in the manifold and seeps into the good bank. Your log shows lean in both banks, in fact the right O2 voltage is lower (leaner) on the right side than the left. Also the injector BPW is about equal on both sides. Could be you rich mix may have fouled the O2(s) and they are now reading incorrect. Anyway you need to get the leak fixed first before proceeding, and if it cures all your problems that would be terrific..Can't comment on the putty fix, I never used it on a hot/cold high temp expanding/contraction situation that the header experiences. .. Update us on you progress, good luck.. Bob D.

Car is still running rough. I've fixed the header leak, put in new 02 sensors and spark plugs. Haven't logged it yet...but sure doesn't seem any different. Will have a log up in the next hour or so. I'm beginning to wonder about timing?? It's been idling rough (press the gas, bogs down, chokes up, sometimes it'll stall). Once it's been running for a little while it seems to get a little better. Any thoughts?

There's the log from this evening. I don't understand. That right o2 sensor is nearly new! I'll be checking the wiring and I'll probably pull it out tomorrow and hit with some cleaner. I've barely driven the car in the last month...heck I hadn't started it unitl today for at least 4 weeks. The last tune which someone posted a graph of is a few posts back. The right o2 looks fine.
Anyway, I'll get the O2 sensor working again and keep logging. Tomorrow will be a long day of data logging and analyzing. I'll post all the important logs. Any help would be much appreciated.
