Yup, always check carfax, even if the pcm did, then you could change the pcm as well lol.

Re: True engine mileage from the computer?

yea, I guess thats true. I was wondering cause I saw a 1997 SS on ebay

check this, lol
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEBI%3AIT

...this thing looks BEAT!! It has 45k miles on it but I would swear it had more. Carfax has a warrantee for that, so, if I bought it and it was wrong, I could get some money back, but, without a true reading somewhere, it is hard to tell and put a claim in on.

For 45k miles?? Did you see the seat? Its already scrunched up and ripped on the edge. On the passenger side, where the back rest release latch is, looks like it was worn silly by someone that just could not get comfy, lol. Also, on the side of the dash, it looks all scratched to hell and the back carpet has stains on it right where the console meets the rug. I mean, there is more....

It is a nice looking car in general, but, for his asking price, it should be a lot cleaner, i thought.

Anyways, the drivers seat makes me think there are more miles on it than what the odometer reads, that is why I was wondering if the computer help the mileage too.

Actually the seats look a little better than the seats in mine that have 60k on them. Mine have the same crease marks but have more wear on the side bolsters. How the seats wera have more to do with how someone gets into the car than how old it is. I generallysit down more gently while my wife falls into the car. That's gotta be hell on the seats.

Just gotta love the little lady, ehy, lol??

Well, as far as the seats go, I was giving him that one, it was all the other stuff "put together" for a 45k mile car that had me scrathing my head wondering how it got so beat. Like I explained to him, my first 97 SS WAS beat to hell at 47k when i got it and it looked a little better (inside). It is his car to do with as he pleases but not to expect top notch price for something smacked around. I thought 8500 was fair as I can not hear or drive the car.

WOW, I saw your web page, that was what I was thinking of doing, but in my driveway, lol!! You are the man, how much did that cost you in the end?? You can PM me the answer, lol.
