...for education that saved me $$$. Got my car back today.
The original dealer estimate was: Brand new BCM + programming of the BCM + new key + labor charge (coming to like $700). The BCM actually had malfunctioned. The guy (i think he was impressed with my knowledge ) suggested a used BCM and key. If only the used BCM then he would have charged me for programming the BCM to match my existing key resistance (is that true? ). Luckily I got both 2nd hand plus labor cost came to $300.

I now like to fix an SOS kit under steering area to avoid the problem recurring.
