Re: team zr1 tuning vs madwolf, anyone ever had tuning by team zr1?

After doing a lot of researching on the subject. I narrowed it down to two places I would consider for tuning. Madwolf and PCMforless. I did not go with Team ZR1 mainly because of price and second, I know of no one on this board that has used them.
Here is the breakdown:
Company Team ZR1
Price $425 ($325 quoted to me)
Type of tune Mail tune for the way I drive and 2 TWEAK tunes anytime within 6 months
Seems to be very knowledgable and willing to help.

Company PCMforless
Price $50 for initial tune + $25 for unlimited ammendment tunes
Type of tune Mail tune
Very nice guys with good support, and tuning knowledge from what I have heard.

Company MadWolf
Price $60 for unlimited mail order tune
Type of tune Mail tune
Super nice guy that will provide plenty of support and knowledge from personal experience.

I went with Ion @ MadWolf for price, support, and quality of work, and I have no regrets. Car runs bad ***.

now i know i wont ever go with team zr1 , mainly the price but i was quoted 425.00 not the decent 325.00 plus madwolf has the same ulimited ls1 edit that team zr1 has and madwolf has a hell of a rep team zr1 has no rep that i seen on this board. why do you have 50.00 down for madwolf tune? its 225.00+ 13.00 for shipping. i will be going with madwolf definately

Here is the price list for his tune (for my car). $50 is for a mail order tune. He emails me the file and I flash my own PCM. Also I had his price for the unlimited tunes wrong. It is $60 total for unlimited tunes.

In your case, you are ordering a complete tuned PCM from him which would cost more.

Man, I screwed that all up. It is $60 for unlimited mail order tunes for 94-95 cars. Don't know where the hell I got $50. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

For the price you pay for the team ZR1 you could get a dyno tune from Ion or Bryan(pcmforless). While Bryan does awesome work, Ion(also does awesome work) supports this site so w/o his donations none of this would be AS possible.

Better watch out for that guy, he has been banned on several lists and forums including LT1 and LS1 edit lists. Stick with the guys you know well.

Yes, that is correct. The guys name is John Rovner or something like that. He would get on the LT1 and LS1 edit lists and raise hell arguing with everyone about this or that and don't even get him started on scan tools! From what I heard he was banned from one of the LS1 forums as well. I was on the receiving end one time for arguing about who's scan tool was best and who's was authorized for GM Dealers. He is of course a EASE dealer, and to which he swears that GM uses their scan tool. While EASE is a good tool, there are other for a lot less that works just as well, not to mention NOT ONE GM dealership uses it. And why should they? ALL GM dealers use the tried and true Vetronix TECH2 Flash, which is the same tool I use. Heck, even Suzuki and Toyota uses it as well! So that has to tell you something. EASE can't even begin to compare with the TECH2's capabilities as a scan and diagnostic aid for GM cars.

I tell you this about John Rovner, he really knows what he's talking about and doing AFA REAL drivability/power tuning. Not to say the others do not but there are LOTS of tuners who have LS1edit and claim to be tuners. Most of whom don't know Jack SH*T about real tuning. TeamZR1 does know what they're doing. This is experience talking believe me.
