TCC WOT Forced Lock Speed Threshold Vs. Gear
TCC WOT Forced Lock Speed Threshold Vs. Gear
What exactly does this table do in Tunercat:TCC WOT Forced Lock Speed Threshold Vs. Gear
Does it actually force the converter to lock at the specified speed? (In my case 88mph) If so should i leave these stock or does anybody have recomendations?
What gear does it lock at 88 mph automatically? I would think it would come in handy when dragracing if you had a converter tough enough to take it. I found when I was running a 4L60E that if I locked the converter at the top of first gear I would have less slip and gain approx .2 in the quatermile. For daily driving I think I would use it for overdrive only and set it at approx 65 mph so that when you accelerate on the freeway you can just hold lock up and stopm on it. JHMO. Eric L
In pe mode it makes the converter lock in a particular gear at a particular speed. Its a real bad idea if you're making any power at all. Also if you have a 8 or 9" converter it will generally take the lockup clutch out quickly because aftermarket converters have weak clutches to start with. Most of the time it will cause a bog and kill the trap speed if left in from my experience. The only place I would do it is with a turbo car, and the converter i'd use for that is over a grand and has a 3 disc lockup clutch designed to hold big power.
