bryan, from pcmforless.com, sent me my new pcm program, but i had forgotten to ask him to change the idle too. so, he sent me a .bin file, after he had sent me the flshprog for the rest of my mods. i know how to run the flshread/flshwrite, but i have no idea how i upload/install the .bin file.

tomorrow, i'm going to run flshread, then save the old program, and then run flshwrite...so, what am i supposed to do after that, with the .bin file?

sorry, i'm incompetent when it comes to computer programming.

If you know how to run FLSHPROG then you know how to upload the file to the car, thats the same thing, you are REPROGRAMMING the car with the image (BIN).

If you want to change the idle you would do that within Windows, in the normal Tunercat editing program. If you cannot do this, I can do it for you or anyone else with Tunercat could as well.

 

dr., thanks for the reply. i dont know how to upload it. nothing on my computer knows how to open the .bin file. since i cant open it, i dont know how to upload it.

You are not going to be uploading this via Windows, what OS is on your system?

You will need either a boot disk, or Win95/98 will work easily, as for 2k I've never used that (boot disk will work, will cmd line at bootup? I have no idea).
